  21. I have some problems with floppy-disk handling on Linux.
  22. If I type:

  24. >fdformat /dev/fd0

  26. on a DD disk ... it works correctly (880k formattated)
  27. but with an HD disk ... it formats again 880k !!!
  28. I looked for anyother devices but I found only a fd0h1440 : since I used it, every
  29. disk is formattated at 440k !!! ????
  30. I can't change the format anymore ... as it was locked !
  31. How does the fd device work ?
  32. How can I say to the system that the disk is changed ?
